We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting surgeons and the surgical team before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available, and assisting the surgeon directly during operations. You will be expected to maintain a sterile environment, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and provide high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. You should be able to communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. In addition to technical skills, compassion and empathy for patients are essential, as you will be involved in their care before and after surgery. Your duties will also include handling surgical instruments, suturing incisions, controlling bleeding, and monitoring patient vital signs during procedures. You may be required to assist with patient positioning, draping, and transport, as well as documenting surgical procedures and maintaining accurate records. Adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards is mandatory. To succeed in this role, you should have completed an accredited Surgical Assistant program or possess equivalent experience in a surgical setting. Certification as a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist is highly desirable. You must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, as surgeries may occur outside regular business hours.
