We are looking for a skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server database systems, ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure database integrity, security, and performance. The SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for the development and sustainment of SQL Server databases, ensuring operational readiness (security, health, and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. You must be capable of working independently and collaboratively. You will be responsible for managing SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. You will configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. You will apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations. The successful candidate will independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. You will refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. You will assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement, providing 24x7 support for critical production systems. You will perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours. You must have a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. You should have experience with database performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. You must have experience with backups, restores, and recovery models, as well as knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You must be proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to prevent downtime and data loss.
