You must be comfortable saying “no” when necessary and be result-oriented. The goal is to preserve the company’s integrity by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course. As a Privacy Specialist, you will be tasked with developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. You will conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in data protection practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for training employees on privacy policies and procedures, ensuring that they understand their roles and responsibilities in protecting sensitive information. You will also serve as the point of contact for any privacy-related inquiries or concerns, providing guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will need to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in privacy laws and regulations, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with any changes. You will work closely with legal and IT teams to address any privacy breaches or incidents, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions as needed. The Privacy Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining records of data processing activities and ensuring that data subjects' rights are respected and upheld. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy considerations into new projects and initiatives, ensuring that privacy is embedded into the organization's culture and operations. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and experience in implementing privacy programs in a corporate environment. A certification in privacy, such as CIPP or CIPM, is highly desirable.
